Valor Claim Tracker — Privacy Policy

Valor Claim Tracker (“the extension”) is a browser extension that helps veterans track their U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) disability claims. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your information.

What the extension accesses

• VA.gov claim data. When you are signed in to VA.gov, the extension reads your claims, appeals, rated disabilities, letters, and payment information from VA.gov's own interfaces, using your existing logged-in session. The extension never asks for, sees, or stores your VA.gov password or login credentials.

How your data is stored

• All claim data and settings are stored locally on your device using the browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local).
• The extension does not use cookies for tracking and does not run analytics.
• Uninstalling the extension removes this locally stored data.

When data leaves your device

Your data stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to send it:

• “Analyze with Valor” sends the names of your claimed conditions to the Valor Rating orchestrator to return suggestions. This is off by default.
• “Import to Valor” sends your rated disabilities to your Valor Rating account to pre-fill a claim, only when you click it and are signed in to Valor.

Health information

VA disability and claim information may constitute health information. The extension treats it accordingly: on-device by default, transmitted only at your explicit direction over HTTPS, used only to provide the requested feature, and never sold or shared with third parties for advertising.

Permissions and why they are needed

• storage — save your claim snapshot and settings on your device.
• alarms — periodically check VA.gov for claim changes in the background.
• notifications — notify you when a claim changes.
• Access to va.gov — read your claims from your logged-in VA.gov session.
• Access to valorrating.com and the Valor orchestrator — only for the optional, user-initiated analyze/import features above.

Children

The extension is intended for veterans and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date will change accordingly.
